Chinchon in a nutshell

Played with a Spanish 40-card deck (1-7 plus sota, caballo and rey) by 2 to 4 players, each on their own. Everyone is dealt 7 cards; on your turn you draw one card from the stock or the discard pile and discard one. Combinations are sets (3+ cards of the same rank) or runs (3+ consecutive cards of the same suit, in the order 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-10-11-12). If your 7 cards form a single same-suit run you have a chinchón and win the match outright. If your uncombined cards total 5 points or less you may close the hand: everyone then scores the value of their leftover cards and whoever reaches 100 is eliminated.

Cards 1 to 7 count their face value; sota, caballo and rey count 10 points each.
